Milton & Fulston Utd Vs. Rainham 84 (30-01-11)

Match 1

A great start to the match saw the boys enjoy some wonderful passing football, with Jack O starting the scoring with a terrific right foot drive into the top right hand corner. This was shortly followed by a couple of clinical finishes from Josh D, followed by another power-blaster from Jack O. The support play from the defence and midfield allowed for some great breaks throughout the first and second half where the midfield/defence supported the attackers in terrific style, with Jayden coming close to scoring just at the end of the first half. The dominance of Finn in goal and Josh O/Jack G, allowed the midfielders and attackers to continue where they left off, firstly parents man of the match Jack O finished in great style to score his third and fourth goals of the game (26 for the campaign), this was followed by goals from Jack G (a strike from just outside the box), Armed for his first of the campaign and then a hat-trick for Josh D (19 for the season). Our final goal was slotted home by Josh O who had a brief spell in attack. A great performance by the boys and terrific support from the opposition’s players and supporters, unfortunately marred by the broken collar bone suffered to Finn Byrne whom we wish all the best for a speedy recovery.

Match 2

A wonderful start and a great game from Lewis in the heart of midfield saw him create and score a well finished goal. Shortly after Rainham 84’s player then hit an unstoppable free kick past an in-form Dylan. Joseph, Lewis and Harry then started to dominate in midfield and a powerful run saw Joseph score a terrific second goal.  He shortly followed this with his second of the game (season total of 12). The second half belonged to Man of the Match defender Isaac, who hit his first goal of the game from midway inside his own half, an incredible strike that was surpassed when he scored direct from a free kick taking his tally to 7 for the season. Another terrific corner then found Jack Reed who hit a terrific first time strike, running in from the penalty spot, a deserved goal following an overhead effort in the first half that went just wide. Elijah then rounded the keeper for his 29th of the season from midfield, to ensure he has continued his record in scoring in every game he has played for the club since our first match.

We will now be playing friendly matches throughout February, March and April against the likes of Real 60, Range Rovers, Woodcoombe and Oak,

Milton & Fulston Utd Vs. Pegasus 81 (23-01-11)

Match 1

A great first half saw a really entertaining spectacle for all the supporters. MFU came close to scoring with attacks from Jayden, Elijah and Joseph.  Captain and goalkeeper Finn’s positioning and distribution was brilliant throughout with Isaac and Samuel solid in defence. The second half saw MFU really attack the Pegasus keeper who was in great form with further shots for Joseph. Both Joseph and Isaac had great second half performances, Isaac showing his dominance in his defensive midfield role. A terrific last ten minutes then saw Elijah score an amazing hat-trick, all dribbles with probably the second being the best, where Finn coolly rolled the ball to Isaac, who found Elijah on the right where he beat three players before rounding the keeper to score with his left foot. A great performance by the boys with Elijah awarded the parents man of the match.

Match 2

Another great start to the game, saw end to end football from both teams, with MFU unlucky to concede an early goal. From then on MFU attacked, attacked and attacked and only the brilliance of the Pegasus keeper and defence kept the midfield and strikers of Jack R, Jack O and Jack G at bay. Josh O was again brilliant in the heart of defence with unbelievable positioning for a player so young and Armed showed how talented and strong he is in the centre of midfield. Throughout the second half, Harry was ever present breaking down the oppositions attack and then distributing to the three Jack’s, Harry was further awarded the parents man of the match award. In one attack, Dylan made a terrific save from the Pegasus forward and then hit another long kick to the attackers. First Armed, then Jack R, then Harry and finally Jack O all missed what should have been certain goals.  Our 100th goal finally went deservedly to Jack O who hit another great strike into the net.

Milton & Fulston Utd Vs. Swallows (16-01-11)

Match 1

A great first half saw the two sides play some great football, with Josh D coming close for the home side following some great tackles turning defence into attack. Jack G eventually broke the dead-look hitting a great left footed shot through a crowded defence. In the second half, MFU played some terrific passing football. Josh, Finn and Samuel were solid in defence, with Samuel making a terrific clearance to stop a close Swallows chance. Josh O played some great passes to the attackers out of defence. One of these telling passes found Jack O who hit what must be a contender for goal of the season from the edge of the box into the top right hand corner of the goal. It was an entertaining match with the MFU Man of the Match going to Jack Galloway for a great performance in midfield and a mention must go to Armed for a terrific save he made early in the second half.

Match 2

A great attacking start from MFU in the first half was supported by the solid defensive and midfield play of Jayden and Harry. On another day Elijah would have had three penalties following great dribbles in the oppositions box. Two were awarded as free kicks on the edge of the box.  Issaac “Beckham” then stepped up and hit a great shot but this time it fantastically headed on the line by the Swallows defender, this then led to a break-away attack that was then brilliantly saved by Dylan Miller. The second half saw great midfield performances from Joseph and Lewis, Joseph continued to battle and run with the ball from midfield helping him to two great goals, the first he finished with a powerful right foot strike. Lewis then finished of a great passing move to hit the ball into the bottom right hand corner and another goal for Elijah after rounding a couple of players came towards at the end of the match. Another great game from both teams, great opposition and supporters, with MFU Man of the Match awarded to Joseph.

Rainham Kenilworth Vs. Milton & Fulston Utd (09-01-11)

We were thankful to Rainham Kenilworth for moving the fixture, and it was unfortunate it was to be contended on unplayable pitch, very wet and very muddy, that would not suit our attacking style of football.

Match 1

Rainham started well and amazingly the game started with MFU conceding a couple of goals that did not appear to come close to crossing the line, a bizarre turn of events that then saw one of Joseph shots that crossed the line but not be awarded….. Despite this, Dylan was not troubled again for the remainder of the match and throughout the the first half and all of the second, the boys did themselves proud, with some great attacking football, followed by a terrific goal from Elijah running almost the length of the field to score. Jack Reed was terrific in his midfield/attacking role and played some lovely passes throughout the match and then won the Man of the Match award.

Match 2

Rainham Kenilworth again came out strong for this fixture and the long break was starting to tell on the MFU players who by this stage could not string a pass or a run together on the heavy pitch. The boys however continued to battle and did themselves proud against a well organised Rainham side, with Rainham putting away their chances well, and MFU unlucky not to finish theirs with Josh D and Jack O coming close. Josh D was awarded the man of the match award for his tireless running and battling throughout the match, but some defensive training needed on Saturday for the boys.

Rainham Eagles Vs. Milton & Fulston Utd (21-11-10)

Match 1

For the first match the team lined up with Armed Ali in goal, supported by Lewis Tamlyn, Isaac Jenner, Jaden McGrath, Elijah Way and captain Joseph Casey. Despite some great attacks from MFY the Eagles got a penalty against the run of play that Armed was unlucky not to save, MFU then applied enormous pressure but could not find a goal, Elijah, Joseph and Lewis all came close. Jaden played a great game in midfield supporting both the attackers and Isaac at the back.  Joseph was then put through by a good pass from Isaac to finish right on half time. The second half was similar to the first with chances going just wide or being well saved. Elijah was then taken down just outside the penalty area, Isaac “Beckham” then hit his third free kick of the season into the top right hand corner. Joseph and Elijah started to dominate with strong runs supported by Lewis and Jaden, and the third went to Elijah who beat a couple of men and then coolly finished to the keepers right. A terrific save towards the end of the game from Armed almost won him the Man of the Match which went deservedly to Jaden McGrath.

Match 2

The team for the next match included Dylan Miller in goal followed by team mates; Josh Overy (captain), Jack Reed, Jack Galloway, Samuel Rolfe, Finn Byrne and Jack O’Neil. A terrific start again as with last week and the midfield took control of the ball and Jack O’Neil made two terrific runs from midfield to finish two great efforts past the excellent Eagles goalkeeper. At the back Josh was excellent again not even allowing the MFU keeper a touch throughout the first and second half. Jack G with the support of Finn and Samuel never stopped running in the heart of midfield. Jack R link play with the midfield was terrific comfortably holding up the ball and feeding the attacking midfielders. One of many attacks in the second half from Jack O down the right then set up Finn for his first of the match, he coolly finished in the bottom left hand corner and this was shortly followed by Jack G ‘s first goal of the campaign. Another great game, Samuels, tireless running almost got him the parents man of the match that was awarded to Finn. Another great team performance from both teams supporters and players.

New Road Vs. Milton & Fulston Utd (14-11-10)

Match 1

The team for the first match included Dylan Miller in goal followed by team mates; Josh Overy, Josh Decarte (captain), Jaden McGrath , Jack Galloway, Jack O’Neil and Harry Brown. Some great passing football by MFU in the opening five minutes allowed Jack O’Neil to score two quick goals in succession, the first was from a lovely pass by Jaden where he score to the keepers right, the second followed some good movement from Josh O in defence and Jack G in midfield who fed Jack O to run straight through the middle of the New Road defence and finish again to the keepers right. Some good midfield play from Harry and Jack G allowed Josh D to score his first of the game where he placed the ball neatly into the bottom right hand corner. The boys continued the second half where they left of, with Jack G, Jaden and Harry excellent in midfield, Josh Overy continued to play as consistent as ever at the back, shutting down the oppositions attack. Dylan was unlucky with the New Road goal, where there striker scored a wonderful goal from just outside the box, this was then followed by a normal Josh “Teves” goal where he used his strength to get away from the last player and coolly finish to the keepers right. Jack O then dominated and finished his third and fourth in similar fashion where he used his strength and speed to beat the full backs before hitting two powerful finishes, this was followed by a slightly easier tap-in for his fifth. The parent’s man of the match and the games top goal-scorer Jack O’Neil.

Match 2 (1/2 Match)

Just as the rain started to come down Samuel Rolfe started in goal, supported by Lewis Tamlyn, Isaac Jenner, Jack Reed, Finn Byrne, Elijah Way and captain Joseph Casey. A great start as with the first game, where the team hunted the ball like tigers in midfield, this led to a
